Please note that adjusting to life in another culture is difficult in ways that students don't always anticipate.
Even students who have no history of mental/emotional issues experience serious challenges.
We remain committed to supporting all study abroad students as best we can; however, it is difficult for us to provide the level of support to which some students are accustomed.
Therefore, we respectfully ask that you nominate students who are not only academically, but also mentally and emotionally prepared to succeed in this program.
While studying abroad offers students many valuable opportunities beyond academics—such as cultural exchange and personal growth—the primary purpose of their stay is academic study.
Therefore, behaviors such as unexcused absences from class or skipping classes are not in line with the intent of their student visa.
Please make sure that students clearly understand this responsibility so that they can make the most of their time abroad in a meaningful and appropriate manner.
Thank you very much in advance for your cooperation.
Should you have any questions, please contact mlies@toyo.jp.
We look forward to receiving your contact information via the google form soon.
