For the fifth consecutive year, the University of Florence - School of Law is participating with a group of students in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, a prestigious international arbitration competition held annually in Vienna, which has evolved over time into a global phenomenon. The most recent edition featured the participation of 373 teams from 89 different jurisdictions, involving over 2,500 students and 1,600 arbitrators from around the world.
In this academic year, the University of Florence is organizing, for the second time, a preparatory competition for the Vis Moot, the Florence Vis Pre Moot, which will take place on 12, 13, 14 March 2025. Following the success of last year's inaugural edition, the second Florence Vis Pre Moot has drawn interest from over 20 countries, with more than 40 applications from university teams worldwide.
The School will host approximately 100 students from about 15 jurisdictions, along with their coaches, university professors, and professionals in the field of international arbitration law, who guide students in their preparation and participation in the competition.
