Your vote counts: on 20 October, we’ll be voting for student representatives

On 20 October, students will be called upon to elect their representatives.

This is also what it means to participate in university life: making your voice heard, contributing to the decisions of the academic community, and bringing needs, proposals, problems and ideas to the attention of the University.

Student representatives fulfil precisely this role: they act as a link between students and the University’s governing bodies.

That is why we have a twofold invitation: to stand as a candidate and to vote.

You can submit an individual application by 5 October, using the application form and the link to the University’s page dedicated to the elections: https://www.unifi.it/it/ateneo/chi-siamo/elezioni/elezioni-suppletive-dei-rappresentanti-degli-studenti-lo-scorcio-di

The elections are held through the submission of individual candidacies; in the absence of any candidacies, all students enrolled on the programme are eligible, and those who receive the highest number of votes are elected.

Elections are scheduled for Tuesday 20 October 2026 for:

1) 4 students to the Degree Programme Council for Legal Services;

2) 2 students to the Degree Programme Council for Italian and French Law;

3) 2 students to the Degree Programme Council for Law for Sustainability and Security, one of whom will also fill a seat on the Council of the Department of Legal Sciences (DSG)

On 20 October, it will be time to choose who will represent the student community.

As Giorgio Gaber once said, ‘freedom is participation’.

Standing for election, voting, taking part: this is also how university life is built, day by day.
