The Advisory Committee is a body initially established within each Faculty of the University and subsequently within each School, following the resolution of the Academic Senate of 9 April 2003. At the School of Law, it was established by resolution of the Faculty Council on 25 June 2003. Its purpose is to ensure an official and permanent channel for consultation with the social, economic, and productive sectors of the local territory.
Its functions are as follows:to
issue opinions on the educational projects approved by the teaching bodies;
to develop proposals concerning guidance activities for students in the final years of upper secondary schools, as well as for career guidance after graduation;
to assess the outcomes and effectiveness of educational pathways, with particular attention to internship activities, with a view to improving graduates’ employability.
The criterion adopted for its composition is linked to the need to ensure the presence of expertise and experience that are as closely aligned as possible with the qualifying educational objectives of the degree programmes and with their related employment prospects.
In order to meet this requirement as effectively as possible, the Advisory Committee of the School of Law includes representatives of the relevant social and professional sectors both for the five-year single-cycle Master’s Degree in Law (Court of Appeal, Prefecture, Bar Association, Notarial Council, State Attorney’s Office, Municipality, Region, Foundation for Forensic Training of the Bar Association) and for the three-year Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Services Sciences (in addition to those listed above, the Chamber of Commerce, the Order of Labour Consultants, the Industrialists’ Association, and CESVOT – the Tuscany Volunteering Service Centre).
The Committee is established, convened, and coordinated by the President of the School. It meets at least once a year, in due time to fulfil the obligations set out in Article 4 of the University Teaching Regulations (“Establishment and modification, activation and deactivation of degree programmes”).
