Course Content
The course aims to analyze the cultural heritage legislation in Italy, illustrating the main issues and topics, in particular the notion of cultural heritage and the functions of protection, management and enhancement of cultural heritage.

Learning Objectives
a. Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course students should have a thorough knowledge of cultural heritage law.
b. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course, students should be able to apply knowledge and consequently understand, from a legal point of view, the issues and topics of cultural heritage law even in practice.
c. Autonomy of judgment: at the end of the course, students should have acquired the ability to consciously and autonomously understand legal topics and issues related to cultural heritage law.
d. Communication skills: at the end of the course, students should be able to communicate information, knowledge and ideas related to cultural heritage law to other people and experts.

1. Fundamental notions, principles and institutes of administrative law Contents: The first part of the course is aimed at illustrating and deepening the main and necessary concepts for the study of the public law and administrative discipline for the cultural heritage sector, with a reference to: the constitutional principles on public administration; to the concept of administrative act; to the administrative procedure.
The second part of the course is aimed at illustrating and deepening the main and necessary concepts of the cultural heritage law.
2. Historical evolution of cultural heritage law. 3. Cultural heritage and culture in international law. 4. Essential vocabulary of national cultural heritage law. 5. National regulation on cultural heritage. The Constitution. The discipline of the Code of cultural heritage and landscape. 6. Identification and protection of cultural heritage. 7. Ownership and circulation of cultural assets. 8. The enhancement of cultural heritage.
