Classroom activities are dedicated to the analysis of documents related to educational and social policies for job and their implementation. Documents, projects, practices will be discussed during the lectures taking into consideration also the comparative perspective

Learning Objectives
This course wants to develop this competences:
1. Knowing and understanding the meaning of the strategy and policy, starting at the European dimension of both. Knowledge of the main political documents at European level that define strategical goals in the educational and welfare fields
2. Ability to prepare a project work where students will analyze policies they are interested in
3. Being able to critically analyze educational and social policies and measures as well as to critically interpret policy documents related to that
4. Being able to communicate the relevant findings in relation to policies and measures and adapt the communication to different contexts and environments
5. Being able to define and set up appropriate method and tools to analyze educational and social policies and measures

Teaching Methods
Face-to-face classrooms that will be conducted in order to promote discussion with students, reflexive and research attitudes. Visiting Professors/Researchers will be involved as well in teaching. Classrooms will be integrated by ppt presentations, team work activities, preparation of reflexive presentations by students in ppt/xls format.
Alongside the classrooms, webinar, seminars, conferences, laboratories could be organized in order to deepen some specific, relevant issues that are strictly related to the course.
Students are invited to check the university’ web pages on a regular basis where all details about the seminars, conferences, laboratories will be stored

Type of Assessment
Students attending the course will have some ongoing evaluation in forms of laboratory, project works to be prepared individually or in groups of students before the end of the course (at the end of the learning units). Information and materials for these activities will be posted in the Moodle Platform and discussed in classroom. These will be considered for the final evaluation of the course for each student. Students will also need to prepare a project work on one of the topics that will be dealt with in classroom. More information will be provided during lectures. Students will have to use Moodle Platform to share any assignments during the course. The project work will have to deal with the analysis of one or more educational and social policies that are of interest of students. That will be done by analyzing relevant political documents (in relation to the definition, implementation, evaluation of policies in terms of results and where feasible of impact).
The project work will be promptly posted in the Moodle platform by students. Information on the format must be used will be given in classroom.
Oral examination will need to be prepared in a ppt document summarizing the work done in the project work.
Project work can be done individually and in group. Contributions by individual students will need to be clearly defined and presented.
Final examination will consist of a summative evaluation and of a self-assessment tool where to analyze the course in relation to the learning objectives of it.
Students not attending the course will be required the preparation of the course bibliography and they will be involved in an oral interview.
