Lectures notes.
Files (es. Power Point, PDF, etc.) presented during the course and given to students, possibly together with additional material related to specific subjects. In those files, suggestions are present about possible textbooks of general physics, available either in the University of Florence libraries or in the market.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the course, the student must know the basic principles of physics, necessary to understand physical and chemo-physical phenomena described in other courses, such as (for example) chemistry, physiology, pharmacology.
Prerequisites
Base mathematics: algebra, fundamental functions, x-y plane. Knowledge of the physics base principles is recommended, and in particular: physical quantities and their inter-relationship, physical interpretation of a function between various physical quantities.
Teaching Methods
1) Lectures, divided into theoretical lectures and exercises on selected subjects, representative of the whole programme.
2) Fruition of the teaching material inserted in the Moodle web platform, including also additional material on the mathematics and physics pre-requisites
Type of Assessment
Multiple-choice written test, with closed-type questions only OR oral examination. Written questions consist of two different complementary types: (i) about physics principles / laws; (ii) numerical questions related to the solution of small problems.
Course program
