EMPIRICAL RESEARCH IN EDUCATION.
The course is aimed to develop knowledge and competences related to the experimental research in education considering specific research cases. In details the course will be focused on the following basic topics: epistemology and methodologies of research in education, measurement of experimental variables, validity of experimental research, elements of statistics applied to education.

Learning Objectives
The goals are based on the descriptors of Dublin:
1. Knowledge and understanding: Know and understand qualitative and quantitative research methods, recognize and understand the educational perspective of research methodology;
2. Applied knowledge and understanding: Know how to define and evaluate the different application of qualitative and quantitative methods to the subject of research;
3. Making judgements: know how to build a research design, a questionnaire, an interview, a presentation;
4. Communication skills: know how to communicate educational research by adapting it to contexts and environmental conditions;
5. Learning Skills: Know how to build a research path and know how to perform research findings.
The course objectives contribute to develop the professional competences foreseen by the area 3. Educational interaction of the S3PI Model adopted by the Degree Program.
