This class charts the foundation of the musical pedagogy and music teaching in the nursery and primary school. It will provide an insight into methods and tools, highlighting the key features of the musical discourse relevant to teaching. At the same time, we will deploy ear training pedagogy through the analysis of certain compositions belonging to the Western art music tradition.

The workshop is in close connection with the course. It aims to identify, draw up and structure projects that pertain to listening education and music production both in the nursery and the primary school.

Course program
The course focuses on the foundation of the musical pedagogy and music teaching in the nursery and primary school. Along with a comprehensive view of the main historical methods and the contemporary teaching approaches, the course will investigate the highlights of the musical discourse relevant to teaching, including an in-dept understanding of the concept of music as language and culture. In addition, the course will deploy ear training pedagogy by analyzing compositions belonging to the tradition of the western art music from the 17th to the 19th century.
The workshop is in close connection with the course. It aims to identify, draw up and structure projects that pertain to listening education and music production both in the nursery and the primary school.
