The course will deal with themes and aspects related to children's literature aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills that allow future kindergarten and primary school teachers to introduce the children they will meet during their profession, pleasure and to the habit of reading.

Learning Objectives
1. Knowledge and understanding:
Understanding of main themes, and new trends and current debates in children's literature.
2. Applying knowledge and understanding:
Ability to identify and understand texts taken from Italian and international scientific literature related to the themes of the course.
3. Making judgements:
Ability to relate children's literature texts to the educational needs of the school.
Ability to express autonomous and documented personal judgments about children's literature.
4. Communication skills:
Ability to design didactic activities of reading education (including digital) and promotion of children's literature.
5. Learning skills:
Ability to navigate current publishing production and to research, select, and use texts for use in teaching.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Italian contemporary history and literature.
Teaching Methods
Teacher-centered method of instruction; dialogic lessons with slides and online digital resources.
