After an introduction to the historical-educational knowledge, the course will cover the relationship between education, school and consumption during the twentieth century

The course will give a broad sketch of the history of education from 1861 to nowadays. we will pay special attention to the aspect more useful and interesting for teachers' education. In detail, we will study the entanglement between formal learning, non-formal and informal learning, through biographical interviews.

- students will be able to know and understand the main educational theories and experiences in the contemporary age, with particular attention to the twentieth century.

- students will be able to analyze and conduct biographical interviews with the aim of reconstruction of the training stories of the persons, in particular of the primary teachers.

- students will be able to develop, through different sources of historical reconstruction, an autonomous critical-interpretative elaboration.

- students will be able to express autonomous and documented personal judgments on learning histories

- students will be able to explain in a clear, reasoned and documented way the historical-educational issues addressed during the course.
- students will be able to manage the interviews to contextualize in an appropriate and in-depth way the formal and informal learning,
