Knowledge of the principles of papyrology in order to evaluate correctly the literary and documentary sources on papyrus.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the Greek language; basic knowledge of the Greek and Roman history.

Type of Assessment
Oral examination about the principles of the papyrology, on the basis of the classroom lessons.
Course program
Introduction to the papapyrology: materiality of papyrus paper (identifying of recto and verso in papyrus fragments); book and document forms in the greek and roman world. The contribution of papyri to the knowledge of ancient literature, culture and society: Homer in the papyri.
