Introduction to the knowledge of the Etruscan language. Development of writing traditions. Fundamentals of phonetics and linguistics. Etruscan morphology. Phenomenology of Etruscan inscriptions.

Learning Objectives
Acquisition of the methods of recognition of the Etruscan epigraphs and the different writing traditions. Acquisition of phonological and linguistic knowledge of the language. Understanding of the formation of the Etruscan language and its developments.
Acquisition of methods of dating Etruscan inscriptions.
Acquisition of methods of dating Etruscan inscriptions.

Knowledge of Etruscan civilization and its development. Knowledge of Latin and/or Greek.

Frontal lessons, also with analysis of epigraphic texts. Exercises on texts.
