The course is made by a starting part, where experiments and methodologies are explained and the students groups are made.
The experiments, which are the central course part, are done by the students with the help of the teacher or a tutor.
Each experiment will have a learning part and a section where the building of an experiment or a testbed is required.

- Evaluation of possible alternatives in the experimental approach.
Course program
The course will start with a brief introduction on:
• Course description and final evaluation methods.
• Methods to prepare an experiment and statistic tools to evaluate its results.
• Presentation of the experiments and discussion with the students of the topics.
A partial list of the possible experiments is:
• Configuration and test of a multi-router network - OSPF, RIP, and EIGRP.
• Bufferbloat experiments, AQM techniques - RED, A-RED, CoDEL, etc.
• TCP flavours - network evaluation (BW and fairness).
• Roadwarriors: vulnerability analysis of the DINFO networks.
• Development and analysis of a BTLE sniffing platform.
• Simple Software Defined Networks: testbed development using Click and/or Openflow.
• Development and test of a NFC data acquisition system.
• Setup and analysis of a QoS testbed using Cisco routers.
The experiments will be further specified also considering the class composition, the students' specific interests and their background knowledge.
