Course Content
Class contents: Analysis of relevant sources in EU social law; Comparative analysis of recent labour market reforms and collective bargaining;General knowledge of comparative labour law methodology; An introduction to European Social policies and employment policies; National legislation implementing Directives and Framework Directives.
Recent case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union, recent European sources and selected articles from legal journals will be made available during the course through the Moodle Platform.
Learning Objectives
General knowledge of EU social law; an introduction to European Social policies and employment policies. National legislation implementing Directives and Framework Directives. Abilities: knowledge of the relevant legal sources both in primary and secondary EU law, with particular emphasis on social policies Directives. Results to be obtained: students should know how to search for relevant legislation and case law; how to prepare a bibliography; how to frame a legal question and put it in a comparative perspective; how to approach case law and comment critically on it; how to link EU law with national developments in specialized fields of law.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of European Union Law and Labour Law is recommended.

Paper presentation and discussion in class; attendance in class is compulsory.
Type of Assessment
A final oral exam, preceded by a written essay. Written essays will be assigned and agreed with students on an individual basis.
