Starting from a theoretical analysis of education, as it is conceived in the contemporary sociocultural condition, this course intends to develop in a pedagogical horizon the thought of Edgar Morin and Gregory Bateson, following a communicative, ecological, systemic and relational approach.

Learning Objectives
1. Knowledge and capacity of understanding: developing historical and theoretical knowledge of the philosophy of education and the philosophy of communication, related to its structure, models, identity and function;
2. Applied knowledge and capacity of understanding: promoting the knowledge of paradigmatic models of philosophy of education, that could be applied to educational contexts for all ages of life
3. Autonomy of judgment: acquiring the ability to interpret the texts of Edgar Morin and its relevant for interdisciplinary approach about education and learning.
4. Communicative skills: acquiring competences about educational communication in the various contexts of educational professions.
5. Learning skills: developing a theoretical and practical path of research. It should allow to transfer the knowledge acquired in the various issues and problems that characterize today the educational professions.

Ability to understand the lesson and the texts of the course.

Frontal lessons, seminary with active involvement of students and case studies.

Type of Assessment
The check of learning is carried out in written form after the end of the course (in the exam days) and it is intended to ascertain knowledge, skills, understanding, independent judgment, communication skills and vocabulary. The questions require open answer and they focus on exam texts.
