Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge and methodologies for the correct representation of the territory through numerical cartography, GPS applications, and aerial photogrammetric survey by drones. At the end of the course, students will be able to create digital thematic maps, make GPS surveys, and return an aerial photogrammetric survey.

Type of Assessment
Part one: elaboration of a GIS project (score from 18 to 30/30).
Part two: elaboration of an aerial photogrammetric survey (score from 18 to 30/30).
The final result will be determined by the average of the scores achieved in the first and second part.

Digital mapping concepts: vector and raster data,
Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Use of QGIS software: projection systems, vector editing, creation of layouts, georeferencing of raster data, management of plugins, use of layers available by webgis.
GPS-GIS applications in the agronomic field.
Introduction to the use of APR for aerial photogrammetric surveys: types of APR, workflow, ground target and Georeferencing, aerial photogrammetry with APR, sensors, flight planning based on Ground Resolution, image processing, data interpretation with examples of real reliefs.
Import of the cloud points into software dedicated to the restitution of three-dimensional terrain models.
