In this course we will explore the main characteristics of history of education, the current problems and debates, the methodological issues and the new trends of research both in Italy and in the european context. We will pay a special attention to the religious education in school.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the contemporary history.
Teaching Methods
Teacher-centered method of instruction with slides and online digital resources; analysis of academic articles and videos (in english langue) with a collective discussion on the topics; work groups; personal presentation of autonomous works; activities on the Moodle platform.
Students have two ways to participate in lessons:
1) participating in Laura street classrooms;
2) making use of Moodle class tools, especially the sound recordings [asynchronous learning], http://e-l.unifi.it.

Individual work: portfolio with activities (two at least) made during the course.
Oral exam: discussion on the individual works and the assigned texts.
