Learning Objectives
Knowledge and understanding: to know the theoretical and methodological framework of play-based learning and game-based learning, theories and models of play in childhood.
Applying knowledge: to appropriately choose and use the vocabulary related to theories and models of play in childhood; to identify methods and tools according to learning objectives and target.
Making judgements: to reflect of the responsibility related to the definition of methods and tools.
Communication skills: to communicate about methods and methodological approaches and to present personal methodological choices.
Learning skills: to manage personal and professional development paths.
Prerequisites
Being able to use the basic vocabulary about teaching and learning methods.
Teaching Methods
The course will encourage an active approach to learning. Active learning gives the students the opportunity to become much more engaged in activities (simulations, in-class assignments...)

Type of Assessment
The final evaluation is based on a 90 minutes final written exam (open questions and multiple choice).

The course focuses on play-based and game-based learning and the main theories and models of play in childhood:
Analysis of the main theories and models of play in childhood;
Analysis and testing of tools and techniques to design play-based and game-based learning paths at school.
