There are no specific prerequisites. However, lectures and class discussions may refer to current events and headlines. Students are therefore expected to pay attention to current world events during the course.
Teaching Methods - Last names A-L
Lectures are as interactive as possible. Students are therefore expected to participate actively to the course, class discussions, and other activities. Labs will entail working in groups to complete an educational project.
Type of Assessment - Last names A-L
The final test will be written. It is structured as follows: a first panel of questions require short answers (max 5 lines) and students will be graded from 0 to 2 marks for each question according to their ability to respond precisely and concisely; a second panel of questions require extended answers (max 20 lines), and students will be graded from 0 to 10 marks for each question according to their ability to develop a personal and critical argumentation building on the topics of the course. Specific attention will be paid to the use of specific geographical concepts and theories as well as to the correct use of geographical terminology.

The course is structured as follows: at first, the key geographical concepts (such as space, place, territory, landscape, .) are presented and discussed with specific reference to their educational applications; secondly, the course focuses on some privileged geographical topics such as environmental sustainability, multiculturalism, and citizenship; finally, geographical analytical tools (such as maps, images, games, fieldwork, .) will be introduced and tested in class with reference to their use in teaching.
