The course aims to provide students with an introduction to the main issues of digital culture, with special reference to:
- digital publishing (history, concepts, and publishing workflow)
- copyright in the digital age (copyright, copyleft, CCPL)
- browsing and searching on the net (search engines; bibliographic research)
- digital authorship and the environments of the digital scholarly communication
- Open Access and Open Science
- Word processing and editing softwares.

The course aims to provide students with a wealth of knowledge and basic methodologies on digital culture, also useful for the course of study up to the composition and editing of the degree thesis. Activities are expected to take place within the framework of academic editorial work and digital scholarly communication.

The course introduces the issues related to scholarly communication and digital publishing. Therefore, it starts from a basic level that does not require prerequisites.
