Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, the student will have obtained knowledges and competences pertaining to peculiarities of geriatrics, with a specific focus on knowledge of instruments of functional, cognitive and psycho-affective assessment and on manifestations of main clinical conditions of older subjects in the rehabilitation setting.

Demography and principles of geriatrics.
Comprehansive geriatric assessment: functional, cognitive, psycho-affective, socio-economic and environmental assessment.
Network of services for old age: nursing home, day care, home care.
Falls and syncope. Fragility fracture.
Heart disease in old age: ischemic heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation.
Arterial hypertension.
Aging kidney.
Malnutrion and sarcopenia in old age.
Pressure ulcers.
Dementia: clinical picture and psychosocial intervention.
Delirium in older inpatients.
Pain in older subjects.
