Learning Objectives
Understanding of the different stages in the perception of the Shoah in Israeli literature.
Prerequisites
Basic command of the Hebrew language.
Teaching Methods
Lectures and practice. Students will further their knowledge of modern Hebrew by reading and translating excerpts from short stories and novels.

This is a 15 hour course that will be taught in the second part of the semester by Ida Zatelli.
Professors of European Literatures will be invited to give lectures on comparative aspects in the study of the literature on the Shoah.
Type of Assessment
Oral examination that will take account of the work carried on during the course.
Course program
THE MEMORY OF THE SHOAH IN ISRAELI LITERATURE.
The character and evolution of modern Israeli fiction devoted to the Shoah will be analysed. The main focus will be on the encounter between the figures of the sabra and the Holocaust survivor.
