Learning Objectives
Acquire competences in the Japanese language written and oral at the level B1 – intermediate or “threshold” of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, corresponding to the level L3 of JLPT.
- Knowledge and understanding: reading and understanding long phrases and dialogues in Japanese. Knowledge of sinograms (kanji), lexicon and grammar of the unit 1-12 of the textbook.
- Applying knowledge and understanding: write more complex texts in Japanese using the linguistic forms studied.
- Autonomy of making judgments: to be able to verify her/his own level of knowledge and develop strategies to learn new aspects of the language through the access to printed or digital sources.
- Communication skills: perform conversations in Japanese, describing in details her/his own needs and aspirations. Take part to discussions with Japanese speakers explaining her/his original point of view in a simple way.
- Learning skills: develop the ability to learn individually or in group new grammatical forms and lexicon of Japanese language directly from Japanese sources without the intermediation of the instructor.
Prerequisites
Proficiency in Japanese language of elementary level corresponding to the L4 of the JLPT and knowing grammar, lexicon and kanji of the textbook Shokyu Nihongo I and II.
Teaching Methods
Frontal lessons with the instructor (Gerlini) 30 hours, exercise with the lecturer (dott. Kobayashi). Constant attendance to the course is strongly recommended.
Type of Assessment
In-class exercises, mid-term written test, final examination written and oral on the textbook contents (unit 1-12).
The student must demonstrate the ability to read complex texts in Japanese with medium level kanji, and to be able to create complex sentences using the grammar studies in the book.
Course program
The students will reach the proficiency in Japanese language of B1 – intermediate or “threshold” of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, corresponding to the Level 3 of JLPT. In particular the course will teach complex construction through the analysis of texts containing specialist terminology and contents tied to issues on Japanese culture and living.With the lecturer the students will improve their ability of oral communication.
