Immunities. Peaceful settlement of disputes. In particular: the International Court of Justice. State responsibility. International law and municipal laws.
Non-attending students may prepare for the exam through the notes taken in class and the material that will be inserted on the E-Moodle platform. The supporting textbook is A. Cassese, Diritto internazionale (a cura di M. Frulli), Il Mulino, 2017.
Attending students may prepare for the exam by studying B. Conforti, Diritto internazionale, 2014 or 2018 (to the exception of paragraphs 17 and 41).

Knowlege: knowledge of the legal regulation of the relations within the international community: chiefly between states but also with respect to other subjects such as individuals. Knowledge concerning the relations between international law and domestic law, in particular Italian law.
Capacity: ability to identify international rules and interpret their content. In particular, ability to establish the effect of treaties. Basic knowledge needed in those competition where the candidate is tested in this subject.
Competences: understanding of the way international rules are created, operate and have to be interpreted, with special reference to the means available to enforce the rights and obligations that they set out.

To understand how international relations among States and other international actors are governed. Relations between international law and municipal law, in particular Italian law.

Capacity to assess the existence of rules of international law and their meaning, with particular reference to the legal effects of treaties. Acquisition of the basic elements that are required in competitions which include a test of knowledge of international law.

General comprehension of the way in which rules of international law are formed and applied, with
particular reference to the means for enforcing rights and obligations arising thereunder.

Those students that intend to write the final dissertation in this subject, the following exams are required: Advanced International Law and Private International Law. Also International Human Rights Law taken from the School of Political Science is recommended.
Good knowledge of English is indispensable.
Priority will be given to attending students.

The exam is oral and aims at verifying ghe capacity of the candidate to present in a coherent and complete fashion three topics of International Law.
At the end of the course attending students will have the possibility to sit a written test that, if positive, will form part of the final evaluation.
